Had the Phantom hovering in the air with 45% left on the battery.
Pushed stick to elevate and heard a DefCon Warning Sound come from either my phone or the Remote. (google Defcon sound)
The Phantom elevated as normal, then when I let go of the stick it stopped.
Bringing it down/left/right was not an issue... No sound. Each time I elevated it made the DefCon sound.

I read about low battery sound, but didn't think 45% was an issue.
Anyone else had this DefCon sound occur in similar or other situations?

It will do that if it's cold outside. Batteries don't like the cold. Climbing takes a lot of juice, causes the battery voltage to drop triggering the alarm.

I've had this too, usually between 45 and 52% on chilly days. As soon as you back off the stick from max, the klaxon will stop. As iResq has said it's seeing a voltage drop and warning you because it's concerned you're running out of juice, then when you back off everything appears normal again. I've only ever had it when pushing any of the sticks to full travel. Ease back just a touch and it's happy again.

you will also hear that sound if you connect a battery that is in need of a charge and try to turn it on.
