DEAD PHANTOM4. What happens now? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

In November 2016 my Phantom 4 suffered a firmware update failure, it sat there for over an hour doing nothing. Neither DJI GO Or DJI Assistant 2 is able to rectify this:

The failed firmware update turned my aircraft into a brick. The nice man from DJI online support says if it’s DJI’S fault DJI will pay for the repair:

He referred me to a page to log the fault, so now I’m expected to post the drone from the UK to the Netherlands on the off chance DJI will take responsibility and foot the bill. What do we reckon?

Nothing to lose. Its a firmware fault, no. Crashes, dji will see the log files. Thw shipping is free to so it wont costs you a penny

I'm really surprised that the reset to defaults didn't work.

I think a new version of Assistant 2 software came out in December. I was getting 'Cannot Load Firmware List' when trying to refresh my Mavic a few days ago. I manually had to seek the new Assistant 2 software from the DJI download page. I was not prompted by the older Assistant 2 to update. Maybe the new software will list out the firmware you need and such.

hi, i'm senior on p3s and newer in p4. i try to help you with my tiny p4 experience.

then you cant try to direct update your bird side firmware. first you may download your favorite firmware with DankDroneDownloader-master (i suggest 1.2.06 firmware) then load firmware ed upload it to bird and wait. assistant2 works only to update to new 2.x fly restrictor........ to get list of firmware in dja2 you have to install old version of assistant.....rename folder.....install new version with new driver...then open file .exe of old version.
then you may use a 3.2.3 dj go to update rc to 1.6.0....it's works for me.
