Controlling the Hero3

I am unclear on how the record start/stop is accomplished using the Hero3 on the zenmuse gimbal. I understand that enabling wifi control of the Hero3 will cause interference, so wifi/app control of the camera is not possible.

Am I missing something, or is there a control knob/switch that starts/stops the camera in video mode or snaps a pic in still mode?

There is no remote control. You have to start the camera before takeoff.
