cold battery question with new firmware

I updated the P4P pro firmware yesterday and was out flying today. While I have had cold battery warnings in the past, this time it came on and the bird just started to auto land far from me. I was able to give it full throttle and get it back in the air and come home. Is this something new or did I miss something (I had updated the battery firmware as well). thanks, John
