If you have a Flytrex Core attached to your Phantom, this desktop software application may interest you. It allows you to watch your flight videos while simultaneously viewing your quadcopter's current geographic position on a Bing map. Flight data such as speed, altitude, distance, and number of GPS satellites are also displayed in graphs and data views. You can manipulate the video (zoom in/out and pan) using your mouse.

The software was originally designed for viewing dashboard camera video but has been adapted to support the GoPro video combined with Flytrex Core GPS telemetry. Below is a movie demonstrating how it works using video captured by a P2 w/Hero3+ Black.

(Note: Lower-end PCs may have trouble keeping up with the GoPro video data rate)

Very neat. I'll be picking up a Flytrex Core 2 this week to try this out!

Thanks! BTW, I recommend the Mac version. The PCs I've tested had trouble with the GoPro's data rate.

cool!

Many thanks to you, just ordered a flytrex core 2.... if Dashware is in fact dead, this will help me out a lot...

Tried to load MP4s from the P2V and they all crash the program. Will this only work with GoPro videos?

Yes, only GoPro on the Mac for now.

Running the latest version of Yosemite and it crashed about 2 minutes in. I have the latest retina iMac 5k that is maxed out, so I doubt my hardware couldn't handle it.

That's strange. I've tried it with about a dozen GoPro movies using OS X 10.8.5. No issues. Perhaps your movie resolution is too high? I'm using 1920x1080p50. I'll try it on Mavericks and Yosemite this week.

I'm on 10.10.1 and just tried it on my rMBP 13 at 2560 x 1600. Still crashed.

dptcalvin, do you have any 1080p movies to try? 1600p is probably too high.

PhantomFanatic: It's available at http://dashcamviewer.com. It's free unless you want to play more than 5 movies in sequence.
