I know from my past video editing experience (non-professional here) that .avi files are generally larger (meaning better quality?). GoPro's Studio editor allows conversion to either .mov or .avi.

I have been using the GP Studio editor only a short time since I started flying my Phantom, so I guess my question is whether there is a disadvantage to converting to .mov????

    Thanks

MOV and AVI are simply containers for video and audio. What they contain and the format of the content depends entirely on what is creating them and the codecs that are used. MOV is more common with Mac and AVI more common with PC.
