Long time RC pilot here but P2V+ newbie.

Without getting into all the various reasons for fly aways I am under the impression that they only happen while flying in GPS mode. My question then is this - if you are flying in NAZA ATTI mode is a fly away even possible? I'm thinking not since there is no active GPS but wanted to be sure.

Yes it could happen when you lose RC connection, it goes into RTH and relies on the GPS. When that GPS is faulty it ends in disaster.
So when you notice something strange like sats going like a jojo up and down, on and out of gps lock, set to ATTI and make sure you have LOS and RC control over the bird and bring it home in ATTI.
