Despite sending my P3A 3 times for repair of compass errors, they still persist. It appears a competent workshop does not exist in North America. Two choices, send it in for repair again, or just fly it in ATTI mode only? To what extent does ATTI mode utilize the compass?

A new compass costs about £10 and takes around 1 hour to fit. You'll need a T6 and T8 Torx and some patience. Part for the advanced is Part 29.

Without a working compass you can't rely on RTH working as expected, and flying in any kind of wind will be more challenging - it wouldn't really be a Phantom

ATTI mode means no GPS. It doesn't mean no compass... doesn't mean no barometer to control altitude. Doesn't mean that all the different sensors, other than GPS, are shut off. It just means no GPS.
