Assistant software for mac Phantom 1

I see that there is assistant software for the mac, but it is under the Phantom 2 downloads... I have a phantom 1 and wondering if there are any issues with me installing it and using it on my Phantom 1... otherwise I have to use my parent's computer.

The Phantom 2 Assistant doesn't work with the Phantom 1.

I use a Mac as well, and I've been using VMWare Fusion for everything my Phantom needs (Naza Assistant, firmware updates, Tarot gimbal updates, etc.)--never had a problem.
