I notice at the start of many of the drone videos there is music however I usually mute the sound so that I can completely focus in and enjoy the visuals.

Soon I hope to have some of my own footage to edit which makes me ponder this common trend of adding music.

How necessary is it to add audio/music to the video clips? If you do add music where do you get it without risking some sort of copyright violation?

It takes some expertise to edit video into music or music into video and getting it to match up and be entertaining.

Thanks for those music links, msinger.

OK, I get that it could add an extra challenge to the video editing. I'll have to give it a try to find out first hand.

Also once you have a YouTube account you can search for music you can use, on my channel I have music that is copyrighted and it is legal, the only thing is that if there was any revenue made of said videos the proceeds would go to the artist!

Also I use sound cloud to find music that is not copyrighted
