Didn't want to post on the other post. In Rome I got rob at a train station with camera's all around. Police wouldn't do a thing. Everybody there says the police there are worthless.
Hey Tevek my trip to the bush was great and made clear that goggles, boosted antenna and battery extenders would all be advantageous. And in that order as it would be fine with just the goggles.
As well as some kind of lens filter as the best light was just on twilight when the whole surface was in shadow and colors were all evenly exposed and easier to differentiate. Distance wasn't as good as hoped as the signal began to drop out at only 3kms.
Got some odd warnings like a) "battery temp below 15 degrees - do not fly" early a.m.) and b) with battery level still at 50% it told me "battery level too low" to activate Home Lock. I like home and course lock to enable me to use the left stick to 'browse' around while taking the most direct route home.
But the biggest head trip was just how loud it is in that environment. ie I could hear the dang thing even when it was 500m up and 1.5 kms away! Nothing stealthy about it, that's for sure. There are no tall trees to dampen it's audio impact - only mulgas.
Light breeze today and off to Herdsman Lake again later.
Hope your week enabled you to get out and about some - ... have you ever been caught out flying in drizzle or rain or even just a heavy fog/mist?
Cheers
Marty
Wow! 1km thru trees is amazing as it only takes casurina thicket at less than a 100m to stop video on mine. How far would you now get in a treeless clear environment? Do you think 6kms as suggested in this youtube vid is realistic or total bs? Says his p4p is not modified and is in a low wifi/ph rural area. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0WHnDRtW_w
Should be even better in our remote outback, you think?
Sth of Manji - as far as Shannon? I grew up in Burekup/Bunbury area. What booster did you get for your FPVLR? I'm looking at possibly antenna + battery boost like online and know a guy up here who can probably do it. He invented a light weight battery for metal detectors which is still used today. A very smart cookie

I bought a p4p days after that post and have been clocking up the hours and kms around Perth. Haven't managed to send it further than 2300m before RTH kicks in but I'm hoping that improves out in the bush in a zero phone interference environment. Where are you located where you have so much unrestricted airspace around ?
Cheers
Oh Shoot - being new and not used to this site, I've only just noticed that you actually replied to my question in March. Thanks and also a happy Birthday for today, I notice.
