transcoding tool vs flight time correct exposure

On a bright sunny day no even 35mm sensor I know can capture the dynamic range that our eye sees (well maybe except for Fuji S5Pro). So clipping is inavoidable. In which case, what can LOG mode add, I guess nothing. That is why my guess was that LOG mode doesn't bring anything new to the image...

transcoding tool vs flight time correct exposure

Alan, help me understand it.... LOG mode captures dynamic range NN, same as Standard mode, does it? Means it has the same amount of information, so where does the extra information for more flexibility in the post-processing come from? Do you mean to say that in standard mode P3 applies some...

transcoding tool vs flight time correct exposure

What is the advantage of LOG mode, can anyone explain? How is it better than normal mode?

    Automatic exposure accuracy

I don't really think that processing power is what makes Nikon more expensive and technically superior to action cameras. These days processors are cheap, it's sensors and lenses that are not and IMO they are not responsible for metering technique

    Automatic exposure accuracy

Hey, is everybody satisfied with their P3 automatic exposure? I find it unsatisfactory 30% of the time, so I make an EV adjustment but then I have to remember to change EV back, which is not what I would like to think of when flying. One of the reasons could be that P3 doesn't treat individual...

transcoding tool vs flight time correct exposure

well, it is not exaclty raw shooting. It's shooting in a way to be able to squeeze more from the material during post processing... The only informative article I was able to google about it is this Testing Inspire 1 LOG Mode in Nepal | DJI Phantom Forum

transcoding tool vs flight time correct exposure

Transcoding tool does some sort of post processing that is only (as far as I understood) applicable to videos made in LOG mode. I think of it as a kind of a raw converter. I have no idea what it really does though and why does it need the image to look overexposed in the app at shoting time...

transcoding tool vs flight time correct exposure

I noticed that transcoding tool is recommended to use with Phantom flight recordings made in LOG mode. When I record my videos in that mode they look overexposed, so I really want to add negative expocorrection most of the time. Not only the image looks overexposed, but it is shown as...

    Camera issue

Lens hood prevents some portion of the light from hitting the lens - true. It doesn't stop shadows from hitting the lens though. Thanks for quick response and help!

    Camera issue

I found it looks exactly like mine. Thats good to know! How do lens filters prevent prop shadows from falling on the lens? Isn't it a lens hood that I need to prevent that?

Can someone show similar video if that's a common problem please? That would be a big relief. Thanks

    Camera issue

guys, do you think I should return my Phantom 3 Advanced to the seller basing on the below video? I am shooting in full hd, 50 fps. This effect presents in approximately 15% of my videos
