We are firm that provides site planning. We are looking at the Phantom as being an easy method for providing high res aerial imagery which we can import into cad and provide preliminary planning before we send survey crews to the site. We often begin a project using google maps or similar but often find the resolution insufficient. We have been watching the information on the Phantom Vision as it comes out and now that the price has been established at $1200, we are wondering if the $479 vision with gopro would suffice and whether the Vision will even be able to turn the camera to a full vertical position (which is what we want).
We are not needing to shoot a lot of video, mostly stills.
Can we get by with a $479 Phantom and a gopro and does the gopro mount on a standard Phantom allow for a full vertical position of the camera? What else would we need? We will stitch photos together using photoshop so FPV is not essential.
Not having owned anything like this before, the cheaper the better at this point.
