Did you guys know that "mechanically propelled" items aren't covered for theft in just about all home contents insurance in the UK?
I had a broker investigate this for our home insurance renewal because I wanted to ensure my £1200+ quadcopter was covered in case of theft either in the home or out and about. Turns out it's just not possible, even if you specifically name it, and that they said I would need to find individual insurance for it.
Question is, does anyone have home contents insurance with verified theft cover for the quadcopter? If you do then who is that with? I can understand that accidental damage isn't covered, but theft apparently isn't either....
If not, has anyone taken out individual theft cover and who with?
Thanks.
