I am planning on taking my P3 on a domestic flight here in the USA. I ran down to my local retailer and purchased an additional P3 DJI battery today in anticipation. I read over the enclosed safety guide. It states that the battery should be fully discharged before taking it on a flight. Is this because it poses a fire hazard? Is there a TSA policy for discharging LiPo batteries?
I've located the TSA policy website detailing batteries, but find nothing about discharging. What are those of you who travel with your copters experiences like?
I'm heading to Santa Clara, CA for those that have any tips for local flying as well.
