Transferring video to iPad 3...

Hello everybody. Does anyone know the best way to transfer 2.7 or 4K video to my iPad mini 3. I'm pretty sure there is an iOS/Apple device that I can put the SD card in and transfer the video to my iPad. I don't expected to be able to play 4K video but pretty sure will be able to play 2.7. If any of the resident experts on this forum would be able to give me a link preferably to Amazon for a lightning to SD card adapter, that would be much appreciated...

This might work. When I have tried putting images on an older iPad, once it's plugged in with video/images on the card, the Photos app should come up allowing you to bring them into the iPad.
I plan to try it myself.
