I just don't get how this gimbal has stand offs which connected directly phantom from bottom plate. It's like what do the rubber mounts do? Am I missing something here? I'm going ahead and putting it together with the adapter plate but.... weird.

The pictures are just confusing. The gimbal attaches to the top plate, which is floating (none of the standoffs touch the top plate). The standoffs go from the bottom plate, avoiding the top plate, to the bottom of the Phantom (or usually, a mounting plate attached to the bottom of the Phantom).

Ok... I get it now.... jebeezus, I looked at that forever thinking wtf.

Crazy but good design and keeps it's more compact.
