I just made a strobe with 1 mile visibility from a T6 flashlight . I gutted the flashlight and just used the LED enclosed portion. I powered it with a 1s battery and mounted it on some P4 leg spreaders . Works fantastic!!

Great idea. I have a few of those type flashlights I use on my farm for spotting my cows at night. You are not kidding about the mile visibility.
