I 've used this method to stick PVC material to wood for rocket propellant moulds.

I've done this before with model RC planes made out of balsa wood. It does work well. I made fillets with my finger and the baking powder and then applied the CA glue prior to laying down the MonoKote covering. The CA is watery enough that it gets into the smallest of cracks too via capillary action, and then cover the joint with the powder.
