P4P latest firmware - It was flying around 2km distance when i pressed RTH function.

Then, out of nowhere ascended to 500m. I had to cancel RTH and manually bring it back.

I have all recorded in my flight records.

I know that i didn't touch the joystick after RTH was called.

Does anyone know whether this is a bug or not?

Obviously you had an extra "0" in your RTH altitude settings.

It's not possible at all since RTH Altitude limits 20-50m

It must been something else.

The only place it has 500m set is on "set max Flight altitude"

The RTH height is whatever you set it to and that can be well in excess of 50m.
What height was it set for?
Your recorded flight data will probably show it.

Was the return path towards the sun by any chance?

It appears from the log I was correct in my assumption:

"Home Point Recorded. RTH Altitude: 500m."

DJIGO4 latest version for ios limits RTH Altitude: 20-50m when aircraft is disconnected.
Once connected this limit is no longer existent.

That's why I was so confused.

Thanks very much for the feedback.

Because RTH is designed to work when the Phantom loses connection, the RTH height is stored in the Phantom and not in the device running the app.
There is no difference in operation with or without connection.
Having the RTH height set to 500 metres is only wasting flight time and battery unnecessarily and possibly risking the Phantom up in high winds.

As @Meta4 described, Ditto that. This applies to either GO or Litchi.....either can change the RTH altitude, but only when connected to the AC.
