Sorry for the dumb question-I did search around a bit before I posted.
Just received my P3A refurbished in the mail today and tested it hovering in my basement. The app said the battery required an update when I booted everything up.

Do I just update the battery the same way as a normal firmware update for the bird? Also-can I use the SD card that came stock with the drone to do this?
Thanks. Hopefully I'll be able to get it outside tomorrow. Too windy today :/

Yes, you just put the firmware file in the SD card, fire up the bird and make sure the RC is not connected.
You can use any SD card readable by the bird.

Perfect! I just wanted to be sure before I messed with anything. I'll try updating it when I get home from work in the morning.

Yup, firmware on the battery is done at the same time as for the AC. If AC modules are already up to date, FW install skips to the battery FW.
So you'd want to run the FW update routine powering up with each battery you have.

Alrighty! I'll download it in the morning and give it a shot.
Any issues with the latest firmware?
Just re-format the SD card when I'm done correct?

Yes - when you are done with each battery you have you can delete the firmware from SD card or reformat SD card in AC as you asked. As to any issues with new firmware, for me - no.
Good luck
