Here's my video of this year’s Gator Hunt! Also, before the few hatters jump in, one of the things that Louisiana does well is regulate Alligator Hunting. It is held in September when the nesting females are not eating because they are tending to their young. The Wildlife and fisheries fly the mash every July and do a nest count and depending on nest count and type of marsh (fresh, brackish, salt) that is how they distribute tags. When the gator population gets to high they eat every critter and bird around and then they start cannibalizing on each other. So there is a fine balance that the Wildlife and Fisheries have to attain and have the formula down. Enjoy!
