Phantom 3 Transmitter beeping

While charging my transmitter tonight it started beeping and after about 10 minutes I unplugged the charger and it quit beeping when I turned it off. Any ideas on what caused this to happen.

It will start beeping if left on but with no other activity on it. It is just to warn you that it is still on. You may as well leave it off while charging.
