I recently bought a phantom from a local pawn shop.The camera , charger & any packaging were missing. I now find myself in need of spare parts. The only identifying marks on the shell are the words phantom & (2.4Ghz) on what looks like a fake radar dish on top .

Sounds like a Phantom 1. The Phantom 1 does not include a built in camera, it was designed to mount your own GoPro camera to it. It would have come with a bracket like this to screw to the bottom:
