In iOS 8, I was able to download the 4K movies from P3P (kind of convoluted, but worked).

On iOS 9, they blocked this hack, it does not allow 4K editing or movie downloading except on iPhone 6s and iPad air2/pro.

I have an iPhone 6s, but I'm unable to import the 4K videos to edit on board with iMovie. Does anyone know if this is possible or if there is a hack to allow me to do this without crazy transcoding and file conversions?

I eventually got some traction there. when I did file import I used a few techniques that didn't work.

First, I set the drone video to use 24FPS (it was a while ago, so I'm not 100% sure), then I used the Apple lightning to SD adapter to do the file import. I imported directly to iMovie and it typically worked.

In some cases, I had to use a transcoder but again, this was a while ago so I haven't done much of this recently.
