Everything ended up ok. I was trying to see if I could go full speed toward a target and brake (just centering the sticks) at the last minute. I used my tree as the target. I think I needed to go full reverse instead of just center the sticks.
It just clipped this one little twig of a branch. If that had not been there or if I had descended another few inches, I think it would have worked out crashless.
