New iPad, old drone = Discomnected

I just bought a new iPAD and installed DJI GO 4 v. 4.3.5. Turned on the P4P and the software reported Disconnected. Restarted the iPAD, then the drone, then both (in reverse order) but can;t get the software to see the drone. The controller works fine, so I know the cable is good - it runs the drone with no problem. Just can't get the software to work. Hadn't used the drone in about a year, for what that's worth, Any suggestions?

I HAVE A NEW IPAD, GENERATION 10, AND IT WORKS FINE WITH MY 7 YEAR OLD P4. TRY DELETING THE DJI SOFTWARE ARE RELOAD IT.

Are you able to connect with a different mobile device?

This is an iPad Pro, sorry - well-known incompatability. Thanks for the feedback. (Solved by buying an iPad ProG2 - looks amazing!@!@!!!)
