New DJO GO! app for Phantom standard 3 has problem

I use a Lenovo TB-X103F tablet and a Samsung Galaxy core prime phone. Both devices report that I am at least 11,750ft away from the drone when I am standing next to it, like there is a hardcoded distance offset. This only happened after the app update today. Has anyone else experienced it, and if they did, how did you fix it? I'm grounding the aircraft until this is resolved.
Yes, GPS is functioning. I can see the blue dot on the map before I start the Phantom standard 3, but as soon as it reports it's position I see the blue dot scroll off the screen and the distance metric jumps to 11,750. I am blown away by this apparent glitch at what could be causing it.
 
I found version 3.1.1 and reinstalled. Works fine now. Guess I'll wait until the next version to try again.
