This is another product that relies on being within cell range to allow it to be found.

But much of my flying is done in the wilderness- so this doesn't help. And it is in the wilderness that I really need a good system to find a missing UAV. My understanding is that the Phantom Vision will constantly track its location and send the co-ordinates back to the controller- so if it crashes, you'll have its last co-ordinates. That makes the most sense to me.

But this new gizmo does seem to be the smallest out there.

There are other radio beacons in use by RC pilots but it seems that the FMKit is quite popular. I have one myself but fortunately haven't needed to use it to recover the quad -- but I do have it on my Phantom.
