Birdeyedrone are you around Conwy or was it just a day trip? I am in Llanrwst if you fancy meeting up for a fly around some day.

This thread has made me pull the trigger. My Phantom is on it's way (tomorrow) but I've d/l and reading through the docs - it seems the camera can't be rotated to 'portrait' ? It would have been nice to be able to do panos this way.

Am I missing something obvious?

No, you are correct, the camera is fixed in a landscape orientation. You get a lot in with the fish-eye lens though.

You can manage some pretty good panoramas just as it is.

One from sunset yesterday.
It was hovering around freezing point and getting quite windy.
The bits of fog were being lifted from a larger area over the hills to the left.
As they came down from the high ground the patches rapidly broke up - this had been going on all afternoon - interesting to watch and would have made a good timelapse.

Yes, this thread is an inspiration. It just seems like a missed opportunity not to have portrait orientation IMO.
