From a hill top to start with so pretty high.
That's controlled heather burning going on behind (an essential tool as it needs fire heat to germinate new seeds and control scrub invasion - they do a small section in rotation about every 20 years).

Pisgah Crater is a volcano in the Mojave Desert, California. It doesn't look much like a volcano today - more like a big pile of black and red rock - because it has been heavily quarried over the past 50 years for its cinders, especially the red ones, that are used as lawn replacements, landscaping, cinder running tracks, and bottoms of BBQs.

Had a battery sat a week waiting for half decent weather - finally today just before sunset there was a window to half use it.
Video was a bit noisy from the low light but a decent still across the field.
Tomorrow looks OK all day, so maybe should charge a couple more.

The days are so short here now until February, with barely six hours between sunrise and sunset due to surrounding hills, and it only just clears the horizon so very low light levels if it's cloudy.
Quite looking forward to first snow as it will be brighter.
