I'm planning to keep one of these plus a lightning and microUSB cable in my kit.

I have the battery pack already - it will fit in a jeans pocket, so with 3 ft. cables you could keep it connected to both your phone and the wifi repeater while you fly...

There's a $7.50 discount coupon code floating around out there too.

Unless you're going on a multi-days camping trip that seems overkill?

A full recharge of an iPhone is prolly 2000mah and for repeater is prolly less than 1000mah. With full charge, they should hold up for at least 6 (PV) batteries.... And recharging those PV batteries (even with multiple chargers) take longer than recharging the iPhone or repeater.

So unless you have more than 6 PV batteries, a smaller (say 5000mah) portable usb power pack should be adequate for 'emergencies'?
