I came across this interesting Kickstarter campaign while surfing through Kickstarter tonight. It allows you to land your drone on water and other terrains.

WaterStrider: Perfect Footage. Confident Landings. Anywhere.

I'm not sure if they are going to meet their pledge goal, but if they do it could be cool (if it works).

Looks like a lot of potential .... sail area.
I doubt I could make the over-water flights I do if my Phantom had that much stuff bolted onto it.
Here's one from a 7km round trip yesterday.

HI all. I know this thread is a bit old, but since it directly relates to the WaterStrider, I thought I would follow up.

We did meet (and exceeded) the pledge goal on Kickstarter and we already finished all of the Kickstarter backer deliveries nearly two months ago. Our online store is live and they are available for purchase now. Here are a few videos you can check out that we've put together over the past few months.

There is a windy day video to show some of the wind limitations, an ocean trials video, and a general video that shows some of the overall capabilities. Check them out and let me know if you have any questions.

Does the one with two red pods cost more to produce than the one with four white pods?

@RickB Yes. It definitely costs more to produce due to the raw materials and additional processing required.
