Having discovered (the hard way) the ridiculous fragility of the P2V+ gimbal, I'm researching alternatives that are less like egg shells.

How does the H3-3D fare with the usual bumps and drops that go with a hobby quad?

The H3 3D is very fragile. Bumps and drops can cause it to hold the camera at a the wrong angle, and crashes can easily break it entirely.

I would say the H3-3D is more robust than the P2V+ gimbal, but it is still easily harmed. It's a finely tuned piece of equipment, and can easily be damaged if you crash, but that's going to be the case with any gimbal out there.
