Does anyone use a usb splitter from the controller, which now gives you 2 usb outs . Then use one of the usb outs to your phone or tablet and the other usb out to an hdmi in (Fpv goggle)using an hdmi/usb cord? If so please let’s us know because this set up will allow you to fly Fpv with the Dji Go app while using an hdmi goggle and an tablet or phone at the same time and save $80 not having to buy the hdmi modular.

Yes.

A USB "splitting" device, as you say.. will never work.
If you are looking to mitigate cable management concerns or the fact you have to unplug and plug back in another USB mid-flight - in theory, a USB switching device should work. I have tried the only self-powered USB switching device I could find, unfortunately it too - did not work.
I listed it in my post about the HDMI port...
(which, ironically is the same subject/title of your post, yet

....your post has nothing to do with the HDMI port).

USB splitter will not work. It’s not just power splitting.
