My current vPlus gps cover/mat is much better then my 1st vPlus. Actually most several things internally are improved.

What date did you receive your P2V+ ?
Have you actually had the bird apart and seen the GPS foil fix?
What are the other "several things" you have seen improved?

Mine is less than 2 months old. No foil fix included, only inadequate copper shielding.

I foil wrapped the GPS cable and that appeared to fix the noise problem without foiling the upper body area.
