You really don't need to do that. Just use the lightest of pressure at 12 and 6 o'clock and the filter comes off very easily. It's made of aluminium and is very easy to damage and some people have already found out!
Good stuff. I guess I was just lucky that the builder in the factory didn't over tighten it! Others have recommended wearing a rubber glove when undoing the ring too. Sounded a bit to weird to me!! LOL!Yeah I tried that. This was a brand new P3P. Now that I removed it once, your technique works fine.
