Gimbal noise, unbalanced?

I replaced a broken video ribbon on Friday night. Before attaching the ribbon I added a small amount of electrical tape to the ribbon to reinforce it. Today, when I went to fly, the gimbal made noises that it had not made before. It flew fine and the balance was fine but a new "motorized" sound that I have not heard before was present coming from the gimbal. Would the small amount of electrical tape cause the gimbal to make these noises or become unbalanced?
