But that's why you do a compass calibration whenever you add or remove any new hardware to/from your setup, so the compass can compensate.

I forgot to calibrate in all the excitement of getting my H3-3D rig airborne but as I always do a test hover I saw it toilet-bowling. Brought it down, did calibration, hover was then good.

All right, thank you, wasn't sure if calibration is enough for this.
