Hi
I have just acquired a second hand PV2+ and am worried about the wifi module overheating. Is there any evidence to suggest it is to do with the FPV range booster app? Also is there anything I can do to prolong the life of the wifi module?

Many thanks

Olly

Yes, that's a big problem and the booster app will exasperate it, but the risk will still exist even if you don't use the booster app. There are different things you can do to prolong the life described in a number of different threads over the years. Search and see what you find.

Here is just one such thread: New wifi module on the way. Questions.

Good luck.

I think it does.
I have no evidence though.
The booster app gives you an option it enable and disable during flight. I fly normally and boost when I need to.
If you want longevity, your best bet is to do the artic silver 5 thermal paste hack.

In addition to the Arctic Silver mod, I have also clipped out a number of the vent hole struts in the shell to allow greater air flow from the props to enter and help cool the wifi unit.
