Flying in New Zealand

Super confused by the drone rules in New Zealand.
Saw this video and it just makes me wonder if anyone actually goes to each and every house to ask or do people generally not really care? Does anyone know how they did this?

Here some I saved . Yes wish I could fly around town,does say permission needed if over private property but over houses is a common sense thing,,if your very low and slow "ask " if not someone be watching ready to call the cops,I had it happen but good result .airshare another good one to follow rules but they just the basics but are up 2 date,

Very good video but these days it seems very rough and tough rules and regulations have been imposed to many countries around the globe!

The video was posted Dec 8, 2015, long before the NZ rules came into force.
I'm in NZ and no one can hear a Phantom or even see one above 50 metres height anyway. I certainly don't knock on doors when I fly accross my neighbourhood and neither does anyone else that I know of.
