eBee Fixed Wing Drone (Only $17,000.00)

I'm really interested in getting into the fixed wing drone category. I saw the YouTube videos on the eBee and thought how perfect!

So I contacted one of the eBee retailers and asked for pricing. This is their reply:

"The standard eBee system is $16,990 and includes the following:

-2.4 GHZ USB radio modem

-two 220 v lithium eBee batteries

-battery charger

-one spare propeller and rubber band pack

-one EPPP glue kit

-transport box

-user manual

-emotion2 mission planning software

-Sony WX 18 MP RGB camera


There are many options for photogrammetry software (Pix4D):

-Pix4D Mapper Pro (2 seats) $ 8,700

-Pix4D Mapper Pro (1 seat) $ 4,900"

I guess that software was pretty costly to develop!

That's a standard type price for surveying and mapping equipment.
Add RTK GPS receiver and software and you're at $34000.
Then people wonder why the fee to have your property surveyed is so high.
