DSM2 Transmitter?

So... if my funky PPM transmitter is truly defective, do you think DJI will replace it for free? It's never been in a crash, so they can't take that stance. If I DO have to replace it myself, how much would be involved in converting to a DSM2 transmitter and a receiver? Something like these would be nice...
