Charging the controler doesn't seem correct?

Dear Pilots,

Just very new to my (any) Phantom wich arrived yesterday.
When I try to charge the controler It beeps fanatically after some time and the I/O port feels very hot. I expect to see the 4 lights on but the 3th is flashing and it doesn;t seem to go further than that.
Do I mis understand the charging process or am I doing something wrong?

That doesn't seem right at all, should just plug in and charge. Maybe a bad battery in the rc?

mine is charging now.
rec it about 15 min ago.

Giving it another try.. As i recall it right I charged it while it was on.. now charching when it's off..see if it makes a difference.. I only do see the forst 2 lights running.. Will let you know in an hour or when it starts beeping again..
