Hi
I just recieved my Phantom 3 advanced, I previously had a vision but have upgraded.
Problem Iam having is app was saying to update firmware so I updated to latest firmware and everything went smooth an same with the controller update. I only have an android galaxy s5 so still using pilot app atm.
Well I took it out for its first flight i did a imu calibration an gimbal then followed by a compass calibration. Everything went fine an app was all green an compass mod value was just over 1500. So up we went an soon I hit 80ft it through a compass error on the app so I landed an re calibrated compass . When all was good up i go again an all seems well so fly it further away an higher an then it through another compass error an I couldnt controll it so had to run off after it an finally I managed to land it safely. Was scary stuff .
Dont want to take it out now incase i crash it. I have also downloaded the logg files.

Any ideas on what went wrong?
Thanks Chris

- Do the Calibration in a WIDE open space. Not in your house, your garage, near your car...- DO NOT carry ferro-magnetic materials with you during calibration such as keys or cellular phones.- DO NOT calibrate in areas that could have high magnetic EMI interference such as areas that are closeto power lines, cell phone towers, parking structures, reinforced concrete or steel reinforcements underground. - DO NOT calibrate beside massive metal objects (cars, buildings, fences, buried pipes & cables, etc).

The compass calibration wasnt done in a wide open area as such but there wasnt anything around cars, electrical lines etc an same place where I have been calibrating my compass in my vision for the last year.
Is phantom 3 that sensitive compared the previous models?

Yes the compass is far more sensitive to metal and interference then all previous models. I believe 15 feet is the rule I read on here.

Thanks for your help, when I pick up courage to go out again, Ill calibrate it in an open area close to nothing an hopefully all bes well. Cheers
