Battery Records Vs charge cycles

I've been searching around and don't seem to find a clear answer. Sorry if this question is dumb or a repeat.

I bought an almost new pack for my p3a. When I got it, the DJI Go app showed 2 charges, but there were over 30 battery "records". All stated normal. 1 stated auto discharge for storage.

Are the records just the number of times the battery has been turned on / used?

Only full charges are reported. That is if you fly down to 50% and recharge twice to 100% you will see one charge cycle recorded.
