Any of you guys use an RF meter to check frequency after installing U.FL cables?

Last week, the coax cable plug on my 2.4ghz antenna came loose.

I fixed it but also had a problem with one of the U.FL cables, which spun from over tightening.

Do you guys think a meter would be useful for checking these cables before opening up the transmitter, or finishing an installation?

The cable itself can be checked with an Ohm meter for end-to-end continuity of the shield and center conductor as well as to verify isolation between the two. Do this with the cable removed, not while attached to the PCB.
