Over tightening could cause a problem like this as well. I actually think it would be more likely the cause.

Do you think I should replace this? Does it plug in or have to be soldered if I take the top off? I'm not sure, it looks ok but it may be safer to replace. Thoughts? Thanks!

Did you ever find out the issue? I have a similar problem with mine, my controller connects to the aircraft but I get no live feed and this was after a crash also.
