They make a recoverable float for fishing rods. I have one that I got in a goodie bag at a tourney I fished. Now I just need to find it. It pops up a float once it's submerged with a line strong enough to lift up your rod & reel. An added plus is it's very small and light.

I too have mounted my GoPro on an anti vibration mount but the camera wobbles so much video is near impossible. I have not balanced the props but I have gone though substituting each prop one at a time with the spares that come with it hoping to find the bad one. Didn't work. Don't know how to...
