Be very aware of the number of sats locked as you descend into a canyon. As I descended into a canyon satellites locked dropped from 11 to 7. I was only 100 ft below original take off point. I decided to bring her back up at that point...it would have been 1000 feet down if it decided to land...
Welcome to the club...these units vary quite a bit in range from the factory. I only get out to 1000 ft max...and only 450 ft up vertically...have checked everything...some units are lemons. It does help slightly to use Energizeer Lithium AA batteries...but they aren't cheap.
The camera is the heart and soul of the Vision but I get as much enjoyment pushing my flight skills with ground level flybys or coming in from above and hitting "the brakes" as hard as I can. Temporarily removing the camera both lowers financial crash risk and makes the craft much more nimble...
...only after banging up the tilt servo did I realize how easy the camera and mount is removed. The PV2 is much more responsive without camera weight...longer flight times and no worries about a minor fender bender...flying skills improving rapidly without the worries...try it you'll like it!!!!
Lastor...it is a DJI 5.8 Vision transmitter that I bought. I am having problems with control signal loss at 400-500 feet height when directly overhead...so I purchased the transmitter partly to trouble shoot the problem and partly to have one that can be modified...at least that's the plan.

Has anyone tried setting up two different Vision transmitters for their P2V? I found a used transmitter on eBay that I plan to outfit with aftermarket antennas for long distance stuff, while keeping a stock transmitter for everyday stuff. Seems very plausible, am I missing something? thanks
